FoodUnfolded is a platform about food technology. In general, people have negative associations with “technology” when it’s combined with food. I designed a friendly visual identity and created a limited colour palette that omits blues and purples, colours we don’t associate with ‘natural’ food.
I paired GT America with Caslon. GT America is crystal clear and trustworthy, while also appearing friendly. Caslon has a more hand-molded appearance and it carries gravitas, which is necccessary for science communication. The information provided by FoodUnfolded is engaging, but it also has serious scientific sources backing it up.
