‘Nonante,’ is the Swiss-French for ninety (as opposed to the French-French ‘quartre-vingt-dix) and it is the number of days I spent as a student of the Haute École d’Art et de Design, Genève.
This is the name of my newsletter about life as a design student in Geneva, in comparison to Dublin. As part of a layout class, we were encouraged to develop a distinct visual identity of our own to carry through our publication. My layout was influenced by the Swiss visual language around me and the fact that I was typesetting everything in two languages.
I supplied my own content; illustration, articles in French and English accompanied by film photographs taken by me in Dublin and Geneva. Typefaces are Executive and Wilma Base.
