Visual Identity for ‘Black & Irish’

‘Black & Irish’ aims to tackle racism in Ireland and to celebrate the black Irish community. The organisation has established wide-reaching platforms to share stories of black Irish people. I worked closely with the founders to reach a visual solution that respresented what being both black and Irish means.
According to co-founder Leon Diop “an aspect that is core to our brand is identity. As black and Irish people, our identity can often be challenged. We often hear things like, ‘where are you really from?’”
The logo demonstrates that Irishness is part of an Irish person’s identity, regardless of their skin colour.
